We saw Fran Zell's "The Parts of the Brain"in our New Play Mini-Festival (January 2026 Staged Reading). Now "The Parts of the Brain" is one of seven entries in the 2026 10-Minute Play Contest of the Chicago Writers Bloc, and it's one of the seven plays that will be performed on Wednesday, June 3, at 7 pm at Chief O'Neill's, 3471 N. You're invited to come audition for our annual summer Shakespeare production! We'll perform a variety of Shakespeare scenes in Nichols Park at the end of July.

This will include “oldies but goodies” like the witches scene from Macbeth, and Pyramus & Thisbe from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, but will also feature new scenes for the Players from Hamlet, Measure for Measure, and more!

Auditions will be at Augustana Lutheran Church (5500 Woodlawn Ave) on Tuesday, June 2, and Thursday, June 4, from 6-9 pm. No experience or preparation necessary. More info here: https://hydeparkcommunityplayers.org/2026/05/summer-shakespeare-auditions/

We hope you are just as excited as the players are for the sold out opening of MonteCristo2020 tomorrow! In preparation for the show let’s mdet our amazing cast that has put in so much of their time for this show. Make sure to see MonteCristo2020 at the Experimental Station, it’s a show you won’t want to miss!

UPDATE: All shows are now SOLD OUT.

You might have noticed that most of our shows have a flexible start time to allow any stragglers to be seated. MonteCristo2020 is a little different: We're going to start right on time.

Make sure to give yourself enough time to get there and settle in so you won't miss a moment. Again, also make sure to reserve your seats in advance, at the link in our bio.

Opening night is sold out, and the other shows are filling up quickly. This is not the typical scenario where we still have seats available in person on the day of the show.
