Right after Christmas in 2024, a shy little soul named Fluffy arrived at our rescue all the way from our shelter in Egypt. While he instantly adored other dogs, cats, and our founder, Larry, the rest of the world felt deeply terrifying to him.
The vet's office completely overwhelmed his gentle heart—he was so consumed by fear during his exams that he tried to climb the walls and would completely shut down. We knew it would take an extraordinary person with an abundance of patience to show him what it felt like to be safe. But looking into his sweet eyes, we knew he was worth every bit of it.
A whole year quietly slipped by, and while Fluffy waited, no one inquired about him. But true love has its own timeline. In early February of 2026, a wonderful woman named Penny submitted an application. She was looking for an older cat to be a companion for her cat, Derby. Fluffy was only two or three years old, but something about his eyes spoke directly to Penny’s heart.
Penny was completely determined to earn Fluffy's trust on his own terms. For two weeks, she visited him every other day, sitting quietly with him for half an hour just to show him he was safe. By early March, they had formed a beautiful bond, and Fluffy was ready to take a brave step forward into her home for a foster-to-adopt trial.
We are so overjoyed to share that the patient, shy boy who once found the world so scary has officially found his forever harbor. On April 11, 2026, Fluffy—now perfectly named Casper—was officially adopted. 🐾✨
These are the moments that make our hearts fill with joy.
