In our documentary, Unión Latina: 25 Años de Lucha, workers, organizers, volunteers, and longtime allies reflect on the people and struggles that have shaped Latino Union. Among them is Fr. Tom Long, CSV, whose years of service as an ESL teacher, board member, and advocate were recently highlighted by the Viatorian Community.

Ayer, Latino Union participó en el evento de regreso a clases de Hammond Elementary para conectar con familias y compartir información sobre derechos laborales, incluyendo salario mínimo, robo de salario y protecciones en el trabajo. También compartimos información sobre nuestros talleres y recursos para personas trabajadoras y sus familias.

Construir comunidad también significa asegurarnos de que todas las personas conozcan sus derechos y tengan acceso a los recursos que necesitan. 💪🏽

Yesterday, Latino Union joined Hammond Elementary’s Back to School Bash to connect with families and share information about workers’ rights, including minimum wage, wage theft, and workplace protections. We also shared information about our workshops and resources available to workers and their families.

Building community starts with making sure everyone knows their rights and has access to the resources they need. 💪🏽

Yesterday we attended an event at Den Theatre to watch a screening of the film How to Clean a House in 10 Easy Steps by filmmaker Carolina Gonzalez Valencia. This film told a heartwarming story of a daughter of a domestic worker.

It shows domestic workers more than just their labor; their hard work and sacrifices often go unseen, and this film captures the resilience and joy of domestic labor.

Carolina honors her mother's story and how storytelling starts the conversation towards social change.

Ayer asistimos a un evento en el Den Theatre para ver la proyección de la película, How to Clean a House in 10 Easy Steps, de la cineasta Carolina González Valencia. El filme narra la conmovedora historia de la hija de una trabajadora doméstica.
