Liberating Spaces through Neighborhood Action Logan Square Neighborhood Association (LSNA) is now Palenque LSNA!

Logan Square Neighborhood Association began as a committed group of neighbors motivated by the emergence of community redlining. Today, we are Palenque LSNA, a multi-issue community organization, directly serving more than 6,500 residents and impacting tens of thousands more through nationally-recognized issue campaigns and programs. Palenque LSNA engages families in Chicago’s Logan Square, Avondale & Hermosa communities via our 45 member institutions. With our partners, we develop leaders, organize issue campaigns, and operate innovative programs.

Our voices. Our schools. Our future.

📣 Our Palenque LSNA Education Team proudly organized an ERSB Teach-In and School Districts 3A & 3B Candidates Forum, creating space for parent mentors to learn, ask questions, and engage in the future of our public schools.

A heartfelt thank you to Darwin School administration for hosting us and to everyone who made this important opportunity for civic engagement possible! Together, our voices matter.

Today, more than 150 Parent Mentors and youth leaders gathered at Darwin School to ask the questions that matter most to them to the candidates running for Elected School Board Representative (ESRB) in Districts 3A and 3B.

All four candidates were invited to participate, and three attended the forum.

Our Parent Mentors are powerful voices in our communities, and their participation is essential to ensuring that our families’ concerns, priorities, and hopes for our children’s education are heard! ✊🏽

Being a Parent Mentor is more than volunteering—it’s showing up for our children, listening to families, building trust, and making sure no parent feels alone.

Building Stronger Schools Together!!!

As a result of intensive recruitment, intentional information sessions, and thoughtful interviews, our amazing coordinators have successfully trained 173 Parent Mentors who will be placed in classrooms to support students one-on-one and/or in small groups.

A huge THANK YOU to our teachers for welcoming, meeting, and greeting their Parent Mentor, and to our principals for cultivating these strong partnerships that make a difference in our schools.

Together, we are building stronger schools, stronger partnerships, and the schools our children deserve.

Proud of our Parent Mentors, our coordinators, our teachers, and our school leaders!
