Carole Robertson Legacy Week is Here!

Join us for our second annual commemoration of , which marks the 58th anniversary of the 16th Street Baptist Church Bombing that occurred on the morning of September 15th,1963, in Birmingham Alabama. That horrible act of injustice by the Ku Klux Klan took the lives of four little girls, Carole Robertson, Addie Mae Collins, Denise McNair, and Cynthia Wesley, and became a rallying cry for civil rights leaders that spurred the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Throughout the week, children and youth enrolled in our early childhood education (ECE) and out-of-school time (OST) programs will participate in a wide range of multicultural literacy and developmentally appropriate activities that pay tribute to Carole Robertson's life through classroom discussions, writing prompts, artistic expression and resource sharing with families.
