Thanks to a donation of apples from Golden River Orchard and some apple peeler/slicer/corers borrowed from the community, our Cooking, Canning, & Baking Club was able to process 1 bushel of apples this week. The youth learned about water bath canning and got to process homemade apple sauce.

We are entering our 3 week break, and when we come back we will be making some holiday meals and homemade pies. We are looking for a donation of 1 whole chicken, 2 small hams, cranberries, acorn squash, and pecans. Please contact us at the office if you are able to donate to our club! What a beautiful fall weekend! Come celebrate with us tomorrow (October 18) by getting a tour of some of our very own Cheboygan gardens and help us put them to bed for the winter.

Sponsored by Seedums Garden Club, this Sunday afternoon activity is great for the whole family. There will be some learning, some work, and some tasty c***r and donuts.

The event will kick off at 2pm at Cheboygan's History Center at 404 S Huron St and last for about an hour. We'll work in the Rose Garden and the Herb Garden. Hope to see you there!

Our Cooking, Canning, Baking Club is off to an amazing start! This week we want to make applesauce with apples generously donated by Golden River Orchard. We are also going to learn how to can applesauce. However, we need some more apple corer/slicer/peelers, preferably 5 of them. Does anyone have one we can borrow?

Our newest horse club, Rodeo Rangers, is under way and has started meeting up for educational meetings and trail rides!

The group met up for an introductory meeting to talk about goals and expectations for the year and met a week later to talk about horse handling and safety.

That same weekend, some of the members were able to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and go on a trail ride in Riggsville.

The club has also started to return cans as a fundraiser for educational field trips in the spring!

This weekend, come and meet some of the members of the club at the Tractors and Treats event! Leader Belle Buhr will have her draft team in the parade and at the fairgrounds for hay rides, along with several members riding in the parade and hanging out for a bit to introduce their equine friends!

Admission is free and a great time for folks of all ages! We hope to see you there!🍁💚🐴🍀🚜

We have a few amazing clubs that still have room for youth! One of them is our Cooking, Canning and Baking SPIN Club. We are looking for 9-15 year olds that want to have fun in the kitchen!

We are going to make and preserve apple sauce, cook some fun and nutritious meals, and bake quick bread and some holiday favorites.

Come join us next week for our first day on Thursday October 1st when we are going to make some oven-baked smores and make a plan for the season!
