The Cheboygan County Community Foundation is proud to support opportunities that help local students pursue their dreams and enhance economic development.

This year, Straits Area School of Cosmetology was awarded a grant that helped make it possible to award three $2,500 scholarships to students pursuing education and careers in the beauty industry.

The Cheboygan County Community Foundation is excited to support Scrolls and More with a grant toward the purchase of a new printer!

Grants like this help local organizations access the tools and resources they need to continue doing great work right here in our community.

Lasting community partnerships are crucial to meeting local needs, like the expansion of the McLaren Northern Michigan Cheboygan Emergency Department.

The Cheboygan County Community Foundation has awarded the Foundation a $10,000 grant to support the expansion and renovation project.

“This grant will not only fund the Emergency Department expansion, it will create awareness and visibility of the project across Cheboygan County. We are honored to apply this grant to an important project that serves the community.” – Julie Jarema, Vice President, Chief Philanthropy Officer shared.

Investing in Emergency Care Close to Home

The Cheboygan County Community Foundation is proud to support the McLaren Northern Michigan Cheboygan Campus Emergency Department Expansion and Renovation Project with a $10,000 grant.

This major project will expand and modernize our local Emergency Department, including a 5,000-square-foot addition, private patient rooms, an expanded waiting area, dedicated behavioral health spaces, and an improved triage area.

As part of our contribution, the Triage Room will be named in recognition of the Cheboygan County Community Foundation!

Having quality emergency care close to home matters, especially in a rural community. We are proud to invest in a project that will serve Cheboygan County residents, families, and visitors for generations to come.

Construction is expected to begin in Summer 2026, with completion anticipated in Spring 2028.

We are grateful to be able to put local dollars to work right here in our community.

Our hearts are full after an incredible evening of music, laughter, community, and generosity!

Thank you to everyone who joined us, purchased a ticket, supported the event, and helped make the night so special. Because of YOU, we were able to raise money for the Keating Education Fund and continue investing in opportunities that make a difference through education.

A huge thank you to Brother Jim & Friends for filling the evening with fantastic music and to The Lark Theater for partnering with us to create such a memorable experience.

This is what community looks like — people coming together, having a great time, and supporting something that matters.
