After the SGC meeting yesterday, the Rose Garden Committee convened at the Rose Garden to help it wake up for the spring. The weather couldn't have been better and was much appreciated!!!
We were greeted by tons of really humongous weeds! But we attacked the mess - we weeded and pulled the winter mulch away from the plants. Then we pruned, fed and sprayed them. There's still lots to be done, but that was a good start.
As the garden committees start to open up or work in all your gardens (Herbal, Perennial, Festival Square, Opera House, Washington Park, Blue Star Memorial, etc.), please feel free to send Pat K. pictures so that she can post them here for you. Thanks!

We had a really fascinating presentation by Michigan Storm Chasers Chief Meteorologist Joel Fritsma! You should check them out. Their website is https://michiganstormchasers.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoqwyHcdeHx7jeIDNy2P-_r8500AVH3tqmH3DIZ5pfPZthB-wbkw . They're also on Facebook and have a YouTube channel.

It is so good to be back together and getting back to playing in the dirt and beautifying downtown Cheboygan and our own gardens! Here's to warmer weather ahead!

Get happy! Thursday morning, we'll have our first meeting for this season. Along with spring and warm weather, we're off to a late start this year and we're raring to go! We'll meet at the library at 9:15am for a social gathering. Then the meeting will start at 9:45am. The presenter will be Chief Meteorologist Joel Fritsma from "Michigan Storm Chasers". See you then!

It was great to get together again! Seedums GC members got together at the Earth Day Expo to offer kids (and adults!) the opportunity to make a colorful flower to take home. We also helped the 4-H kids with color-a-seed-package for wildflower seeds to take home and plant. All the displays throughout the library basement were fun and educational.

Gang aft agley" (Robbie Burns)... Due to the current situation, uncertainty and potential danger in the downtown Cheboygan area, the Seedums Garden Club meeting scheduled for this Thursday has been cancelled. We'll try to handle the necessary business and organization by email and telephone.

In better news, May's meeting is being moved forward a week, so it will be on Thursday, 14 May 2026, in the basement of the library. The "Stormchasers" will be presenting at our meeting then. It should be a great meeting and a good one to bring friends and family to. See you all then!

Spring is on our minds! And with that in mind, here's a heads-up that our first meeting for this season is coming up this coming Thursday, 16 April, and you're invited! The social gathering starts at 9:15am and the meeting, program and speaker session starts at 9:45am. There will be loads of information at this meeting - programs for the year, sign-ups for gardens and committees, the new program book and more! Don't miss it. Hope to see youall there! 😃

Well, the cookies are in the box (tins)! A bunch of Seedums members gathered today with SO MANY COOKIES to fill the beautiful holiday tins for our pre-order customers. It was well-organized and efficient, as well as a lot of fun! Happy Holidays, all!
