Follow along as we walk the path to healthcare from Huacahuasi (part two) 🏥🏔️

This three-hour hike is no easy trek, and requires immense physical capability, with its many steep rocks and slippery surfaces. For us, this hike was difficult, but it would be even harder for someone sick, pregnant, elderly, or sacrificing their income for days on end just to (maybe) see a doctor.

In Huacahausi, the nearest healthcare clinic is a 3-hour hike through the Andes mountains.

On our August service trip, our team hiked the exact path someone in Huacahausi would if they needed healthcare. This was a long, difficult hike, and it would be unbelievably harder for someone injured, pregnant, or elderly.
