It’s a dreary, rainy fall day here in Virginia—the perfect excuse to settle in with a few puzzles from Virginia Magazine’s latest issue.

Meet ’Hoofer Twofer, a UVA-themed take on Twofer Goofer, created by alumni Arthur Wu (Com ’16) and Collin Waldoch (Com ’15). Each answer is a pair of rhyming words, with clues inspired by familiar places and faces.

We’re thrilled to welcome hundreds of Hoos to a sold-out UVA Alumni Entrepreneurship Summit, featuring keynote speaker Susan Tynan (Col '98), founder and CEO of Framebridge.

Susan’s reflections here offer a preview of the conversations ahead—from the persistence it takes to build a business to how fellow Hoos can help along the way. We’ll also hear from alumni founders and investors and meet students bringing their own ideas to life.

Congratulations to Warren Thompson (Darden ’83), president and chairman of Thompson Hospitality, on being named the Washington Business Journal’s 2026 CEO of the Year!

He joins fellow alumni and past honorees Susan Tynan (Col ’98), founder and CEO of Framebridge, and Reggie Aggarwal (Com ’91), founder and CEO of Cvent.

All three remain involved in the UVA alumni community, sharing their success and experience in ways that invest in future Hoos. We’re proud to celebrate their accomplishments and the tradition of giving back they carry forward.
