Here is Library Journal on ROTUNDA's latest publication, THe Booker T. Washington Papers Digital Edition: "Structure and searchability are where this resource shines. The Digital Edition is uniquely interactive. It enables researchers to drill down easily to pinpoint documents by decade, year, month, and day and to search with precision across all 14 volumes of Washington’s papers simultaneously—capabilities that put regular static ebooks to shame." Quasicrystals are found, says LiveScience, "in meteorites from the early solar system, and are thought to be forged only in the extreme heat and pressure of the universe's most powerful explosion." But there's another place that generated enough heat to create quasicrystals, here on planet Earth--the site of the first nuclear-bomb test, Trinty Site in New Mexico. While no buildings stand on it and precious little nature, Trinity has one of the most fascinating histories of nearly any piece of land. And so does it have an entry in SAH Archipedia? Sure does: https://sah-archipedia.org/buildings/NM-01-053-0001

'Quasicrystals' like these are usually only found in meteorites and formed in the universe's mightiest explosions.

A nice shoutout from National Historical Publications and Records Commission for the Dolley Madison DIgital Edition, ROTUNDA's very first publication way back in 2004, and still going very strong. More here: https://rotunda.upress.virginia.edu/dmde/

Dolley Payne Madison was the most important First Lady of the 19th century, and the Dolley Madison Digital Edition will be the first-ever complete edition of all of her known correspondence. As of March 2021 it is complete through 1849, with a total of 3291 documents, and the NHPRC is proud to have supported the project for many years.

The Dolley Madison Digital Edition received the 2020 Lyman Butterfield Award from the Association of Documentary Editing in recognition of the first comprehensive edition of a founding-era woman’s writings, the first primarily born-digital scholarly edition, and the first edition published by the Rotunda imprint of the University of Virginia Press. Editor Holly C. Shulman and her colleagues developed key technologies and approaches for digital editing.

Michael Maier’s Atalanta fugiens proposes at least two ways of reading its contents. First and foremost, Maier’s title page offers up a story (fig. 1). The etchings tell the tale of Atalanta, Hippomenes, and a trio of apples, while the title itself, “Atalanta fleeing,” puts Atalanta in motio...

As David Bowie said, everything has changed--nothing has changed. Journal of the American Revolution offers a fascinating tour of Boston as Paul Revere might experience it. Many changes over these 200 years, of course, but he just might find his way home in this remarkably enduring city. For an overview of Boston's built world, check out SAH Archipedia's Boston collection here: https://sah-archipedia.org/essays/MA-01

Here’s one of the things I love most about Boston: If it were possible to drop Paul Revere in downtown today, he could, quite...
