Dylan has graduated! Dylan has made us laugh so much. We’re excited to see him learning new skills, working through his list, and staying focused at work. He’s made huge progress from his first day to now.

Spencer has also graduated! Spencer brings so much joy and laughter to work. He works hard and has gotten so comfortable with his task list, going step-by-step to get his work done.

Our partner, , is right in Davidson, North Carolina. They hire team members with IDD, providing training and job opportunities. We grind their beans fresh daily, so you get the best cup possible.

We are recently celebrated a significant graduation—not for an intern this time, but for our Executive Director, Ken Norton! Ken will be transitioning from his staff role to a seat on our Board of Directors, where he will remain a vital part of our mission and vision. As we merge with ZABS Place, Bentzion Groner will step in as the Executive Director of our unified organization.

With Ken’s continued guidance on the Board and Bentzion’s leadership at the helm, we are more prepared than ever to serve the Charlotte community!
Ken’s dedication to seeing potential in every individual has shaped who we are today. We are grateful that his expertise and passion will continue to influence our work as we build a permanent home for inclusive employment in Charlotte.

Celebrating Gina’s 6 months at the cafe! 🤩 Gina is one of our five OG Cakeable interns, having started years ago in the bakery. When she made the transition to the cafe earlier this year, we weren’t quite sure how she’d like it—but it didn’t take long for her to make it her new “office”!

It’s been so special to watch Gina’s baking skills carry over while she learns new ones, and even more fun to see her connect with customers. She truly makes people’s days brighter with her joyful attitude and goofy, fun personality.

Happy 6 months, Gina! We’re so proud of you! 🙌

We are joining forces! 💙 We are so excited to announce that ZABS Place and Cakeable are officially uniting as one organization. For years we have worked side by side as friends, and now we are coming together to create a unified future for inclusive employment in Charlotte.

By bringing our teams together, we can expand our training opportunities to include both hospitality and retail under one roof. This move also allows us to be even better stewards of your support, ensuring that every dollar goes further to build a mission that will last for decades.
