We are honored to have our Regent and First Vice Regent represent our Chapter at the 246th commemoration of the Battle of Kings Mountain. 🇺🇸 Thomas Jefferson called the battle "the turn of the tide of success" for the American Revolution. The Overmountain Men and this battle are worth reading up on!

Another touching and impactful Pink Cupcake Walk is in the books! Witnessing the survivors' victory lap is moving in a way you just have to see for yourself. The sisterhood, the strength, and the grace these brave women embody is incredibly inspiring. 💕 Proceeds benefit Go Jen Go, which is a Charlotte based organization that assists local women undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Whew! Mega packing days to get ready for our chapter’s first Stand Down. We will be handing out these food bags to 150-200 homeless veterans on Friday, September 25th. Ready for the few women with period products. Last minute detail included writing ‘Thank you for your Service’ cards to include. Many thanks to the many members who showed up to make this happen. And thank you to the many generous donations. ♥️🇺🇸

We are thrilled to be celebrating Constitution Week, featuring a Proclamation from Charlotte Mayor Robert E. Harrington! We honor the principles, freedoms, and democratic ideals that shape our nation. 🇺🇸🌟 In 1955, the DAR petitioned Congress to set aside September 17th - 23rd annually to observe Constitution Week, to honor American history and promote civic education. It was signed into law by President Eisenhower a year later.

Today is the 25th Anniversary of 9/11

Illuminating the sacrifices made for the blessings of Liberty.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, 19 terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners with scheduled flights from the East Coast to California. The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were intended targets, with a fourth aircraft striking an open field at Shanksville, PA, when passengers and crew challenged the terrorists. Never Forget.

Mecklenburg Chapter will be supporting Wreaths Across America for our 6th consecutive year at Gethsemane Cemetery. As part of this moving December ceremony, we lay wreaths on the 400+ Veteran graves. We say the name of each Veteran out loud to ensure they live on in our hearts and memories. They are never forgotten.

Please consider sponsoring a wreath (or two) in support of this worthwhile cause. Thank you!

Wreaths Across America ("WAA") coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies every December to "Remember, Honor, and Teach" about the sacrifices made by our veterans and their families. Please check out this page to learn how you can help by sponsoring Veterans Remembrance Wreaths or by joining us on Decembe...
