๐ŸŒˆ to the color, creativity, and community of Walk A Mile ๐Ÿ‘

From bold reds to vibrant purples, each step told a story, and together, they created a powerful picture of support for survivors. The energy, joy, and unity from that day are still inspiring us.

Because of YOU, survivors are met with safety, healing, and hope every day. Thank you for showing up, standing out, and walking with purpose.

Did you know that 51-75% of domestic violence survivors experience Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)?

June is National PTSD Awareness Month and a time to break the stigma around PTSD. Any traumatic event can trigger PTSD, and unlike a single-event trauma, domestic violence often involves prolonged or repeated abuse. This constant state of fear and emotional unpredictability limits a survivor's ability to process the trauma, increasing the risk and severity of PTSD.

Swipe to break the myths about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Last month, over 100 Huntington Bank employees came together to make 400+ snack bags for the families we serve. These bags provide survivors with peace of mind, knowing that while they are receiving life-saving services, their children are safe, nourished, and cared for.

Arriving just in time for summer break, these bags are already making an impact across all our programs. Huge thanks to Huntington Bank for showing up in a big way! ๐Ÿ’š

70%.

Thatโ€™s how many survivors of sexual assault experience moderate to severe distress. More than any other violent crime.

This isnโ€™t just a stat. Itโ€™s anxiety, flashbacks, and invisible wounds that survivors carry every day.

As Mental Health Awareness Month ends, letโ€™s not stop showing up. Survivors deserve more than awareness. They deserve support, healing, and hope.

When does healing start?

๐Ÿ”Š Our clinician Stephanie Ledbetter, M.Ed, MSW, LCSWA shares her take: The most important thing is experiencing some compassion or care related to whatever you've experienced.

๐Ÿ‘  Walk A Mile is about fundraising, awareness, and advocacy-- but at its forefront, it's about connection. It's about survivors knowing that there is a community standing beside them. It's about creating spaces where healing feels possible. Check out our latest blog post for the highlights of this year's event and a reminder that changing a life doesn't always look dramatic. Sometimes, it looks like showing up.
