PrEP is changing HIV prevention, but access to it still isn't equal.

This National PrEP Day, we're celebrating the progress we've made while recognizing the work still ahead to make HIV prevention accessible to everyone.

Did you know that while 39% of PrEP users in the U.S. lived in the South in 2025, our region still had the greatest unmet need for PrEP? Barriers like stigma, transportation, cost, and limited access to healthcare continue to make it harder for people to get the prevention services they need.

PrEP is a highly effective way to prevent HIV, and everyone deserves the opportunity to explore prevention options that work for them. ❤️
