Charlotte Writers Club will honor Charlotte Lit's co-founders, Kathie Collins and Paul Reali, at their annual awards presentation tomorrow, June 5 at Southminster, 8919 Park Rd., from 6:00–9:00 p.m.

Kathie and Paul will receive the Advocate Award as Charlotte Lit celebrates ten years "of supporting writers throughout the Charlotte metropolitan region through education, workshops, mentorship, and literary programming." Congrats, Kathie and Paul!

Carson McCullers's debut novel, "The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter," was published this week in 1940. McCullers wrote early sections of the book in Charlotte, NC, while living in a boardinghouse on East Boulevard that is now Copper, an Indian restaurant.
