Amani Kids at the EL Family Academic Symposium | Charlotte, NC
What a meaningful day for Amani Kids.
On Saturday, October 3, we had the opportunity to participate in the Title III EL Family Academic Symposium organized by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and Lift Up Carolinas at Garinger High School in Charlotte.
The event was a great success, with families and community members coming out in large numbers to connect, learn, and access valuable resources.
Throughout the day, Amani Kids had the opportunity to:
âą Share community resources in French, Swahili, English, and Lingala
âą Connect directly with African families and newly arrived families
âą Help families better understand available educational and community support
âą Exchange information and experiences with families, educators, and community organizations
âą Strengthen connections with local partners working to support multilingual learners and immigrant families
One of the most rewarding parts of the day was seeing the strong engagement from families and the genuine interest in the resources available to support their children and their transition into the community.
At Amani Kids, we believe that every family should have access to information and opportunities in a language and cultural context they can understand.
We are grateful to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and Lift Up Carolinas for creating this space for families, educators, and community organizations to come together.
