It’s not too late to become a mentor for the 2026–2027 school year! 🪨✂️🗒️

Join one of our upcoming trainings, and we’ll make sure you feel ready and confident to get started. You’ll be matched with a student and meet with them once a week during lunch or recess to hang out, play games, talk, and build a meaningful relationship throughout the school year.

We’re already over halfway to our goal of recruiting 100 new mentors, but there are still so many students across Charleston schools waiting for a mentor. Could you be the person they’re waiting for?

We’re trying something new with our mentors this fall, and we’re inviting six people to join us for the very first Village Dinner.

It’s a small, intentionally curated dinner at one of Charleston’s best restaurants, with a guest list selected just as thoughtfully as our mentor matches. If you’re interested, fill out a short form and we’ll hand-select six mentors who we think would genuinely click.

We’re keeping the first Village Dinner small and making the selection intentionally, so if you’d like to be considered for one of the six seats, check your email or send us a DM for the interest form!

So good to see y’all at Mentor Night at On Air! 🎶 Such a cool space for live music, drinks, and a casual night out with the BAM fam. We’re experimenting with different ways to bring mentors together, finding out what gets you excited, and creating more opportunities to connect outside of mentoring. We’ve got some fun ideas in the works, so stay tuned for what’s next! 👀

Labor Day has passed, and mentoring is officially back in session!

We’re halfway to our goal of welcoming 100 new mentors this school year, and our team is busy connecting new mentors with schools that need them while supporting all of our returning mentors as they get back into the rhythm of weekly visits.

One of our favorite parts of this time of year is seeing mentor-mentee matches reconnect, catch up, and hear all about their summers.

We’re excited for another year of building relationships, showing up, and being there for students across Charleston!

Mentors, bring your people! 🍻 Join us at On Air Thursday, September 17 for a casual happy hour to hang out, meet other BAM mentors, and introduce your friends to the BAM fam. You don’t have to be a mentor to come, so grab a friend, coworker, partner, or whoever you want to bring along. First 25 get a free drink from 6-7PM. See you there!
