The Charitable Society of Charleston is a volunteer-led nonprofit organization committed to supporting the needs of local not-for-profit groups that serve individuals across the Lowcountry. Since 1993, our members, comprised of young professionals, have dedicated themselves to making a meaningful difference through community service, fundraising, and philanthropic partnerships. With a strong focus on supporting children, the elderly, individuals with special needs, and community wellness, CSC fosters a spirit of service among Charleston’s emerging leaders—honoring decades of tradition while building a stronger future for all.

Tonight’s the night!

CSC’s Young Professionals Second Thursday is happening tonight at Share House, and this one is all about bringing together Charleston professionals 40 and under.

If you’re looking to meet new people, get more connected in Charleston, and find a fun way to get involved with local nonprofits and volunteer opportunities, come see what CSC is all about.

This month, we’re also supporting My Sister’s House and presenting a $500 grant to help support their work with survivors of domestic violence in the Lowcountry.

Bring a friend, invite a coworker, or come on your own. It’s an easy after-work way to meet the group, make some new connections, and learn more about everything CSC has coming up.

If you’ve come to a Second Thursday, volunteered with us, or followed along online, you may be wondering what membership actually looks like.

CSC membership gives you a regular way to be involved in Charleston instead of waiting until you stumble across an opportunity.

Members can participate in monthly volunteer projects, attend social and networking events, support local nonprofit partners, serve on committees, help with fundraising, and step into leadership roles as they become more involved.

And somewhere in between all of that, you meet people.

People you volunteer with. People you see each month. People who become friends, professional connections, and part of your Charleston community.

That’s a big part of what CSC has always been about.

Charleston young professionals, this one’s for you!

CSC’s next Second Thursday is happening October 8 at Second Thursday @ Share House Exclusively for Young Professionals , and this month we’re keeping the focus on young professionals age 40 and under.

If you’ve been wanting to meet more people in Charleston, get involved in the community, and find a group that mixes social connection with actually doing some good, this is a great place to start.

CSC brings young professionals together through volunteer projects, nonprofit partnerships, fundraising, leadership opportunities, and social events like this one. Bring a friend, bring a coworker, invite someone who’s new to Charleston, and come hang out with us after work.

This month, we’re also supporting My Sister’s House with a $500 grant, and the Airways roundtrip ticket raffle is back thanks to Charleston.

Save the date: Second Thursday returns October 8.

Our next Monthly Mingle is coming up at Second Thursday @ Share House, and we’d love to see you there.

This is our First Exclusive Mingle for our members or potential members under 40!

Second Thursdays are an easy way to catch up with CSC members, meet new people, and learn more about the volunteer projects and nonprofit partnerships happening throughout the organization.

This month, we’re proud to partner with My Sister's House and present them with a $500 grant in support of their work fighting domestic violence throughout coastal South Carolina.

And yes, the Breeze Airways™ roundtrip ticket raffle is back. Thanks to Explore Charleston, one lucky guest will have the chance to win a roundtrip flight to anywhere in the continental United States.
