The Carolina Center for Public Service strives to connect UNC-Chapel Hill students, faculty and community members with public service opportunities to impact North Carolina and beyond. Since 1999, the Carolina Center for Public Service has been UNC-Chapel Hill’s on-campus hub for engaged scholarship and community service. Through strong collaboration with student leaders, local organizations, faculty members and other service-oriented community members, CCPS strives to nurture a culture of service in the Chapel Hill community. The center promotes volunteer opportunities, shares resources and connects the Carolina community with ways to create positive change in the Tar Heel State and beyond. CCPS is home to the APPLES Service-Learning, Buckley Public Service Scholars, Community Service Scholars, and Thorp Faculty Engaged Scholars programs.

Robert E. Bryan Fellowship Applications are currently open and will close on November 5th at 11:59PM. This is a fellowship that awards teams of students up to $1500 to support a socially innovative project of their own design. This fellowship is attached to a course - PLCY 130 - held on Tuesday afternoons in the Spring Semester that focuses on project management, building community partnerships, and collaborating with fellow engaged peers. Students also have the opportunity to apply for additional fellowship funds for up to $1000.

Each year, Carolina Engagement Week features presentations, panel discussions, skill-building workshops and other events that showcase examples of the breadth and depth of Carolina’s engaged teaching, research and service. UNC faculty, staff, students and community partner representatives are invited to submit proposals.
