🧡 And just like that…meet the final 9 Fellows of our 2026 cohort!

39 leaders. Countless stories, sueños, experience and reasons for saying yes to this journey. Over the coming months, they’ll learn alongside one another, build meaningful relationships, and discover what becomes possible when we bring our collective wisdom together.

✨ Get to know our final Fellows, and revisit the full 2026 cohort, on LinkedIn, where we’re sharing more about the people behind this year’s Fellowship.

🎉Help us celebrate Kiara Aranda, LatinxEd’s new Deputy Director!

For four years, Kiara has helped shape LatinxEd, strengthening our programs, supporting our people, building relationships across North Carolina, and helping us imagine what’s possible for our organization and our communities.

Today, we’re excited to celebrate what so many of us already know: Kiara is an extraordinary leader, and LatinxEd is stronger because of commitment and leadership.

In her new role as Deputy Director, Kiara will help connect strategy across teams, advance organizational priorities, and serve as second-in-command for the organization helping guide LatinxEd into its next chapter.

This promotion reflects not only where LatinxEd is going, but the role Kiara has already played in getting us here.

🧡¡Felicidades, Kiara!

🔥Different generations. Different journeys. One comunidad.

The LatinxEd Fellowship brings together leaders across generations and stages of life each carrying their own experiences, wisdom, and vision for what’s possible.

🌱 That’s part of what makes this network so powerful: learning across generations, sharing what we know, and creating space for each other to grow and learn from one another.

🌱 Being rooted in community means taking time to understand the landscape before we ask questions.

Last week, our team spent the day in Forsyth County learning alongside the City of Winston-Salem’s Human Relations Department and Community Engagement Unit, Padres en Acción, the Winston-Salem Police Department, and other community partners. Together, we explored the places, systems, and community strengths shaping young people’s experiences from education and employment to housing and public safety.

🦋 We’ve heard from local leaders. Now, we want to hear from you, the parents and young people of Forsyth County, who are living these experiences every day.

Join us for Forsyth Dreams, a community listening session co-hosted with Padres en Acción:

🎉 Introducing the 2026 Fellowship: Education Leaders Pathway

🚀This cohort brings together educators and education professionals from across North Carolina who know our students, understand their communities, and are using their lived experiences to turn dreams into action.

🌱 Through the LatinxEd Fellowship, they'll strengthen their voices, build relationships across the state, and grow their capacity to advocate for education systems where Latine students and families are represented and supported.

🧡 Bienvenidos to the LatinxEd Fellowship and North Carolina's largest network of Latine education leaders!

✨ Big news from the LatinxEd Fellowship!

🎉Our 2025 Fellow Jannet Lopez Casas has been appointed to the Governor’s Teacher Advisory Committee (GTAC)!

From advocating at school board meetings in Eastern North Carolina for greater representation of Latine educators to now serving on a statewide advisory committee, Jannet continues to show what it looks like to turn community-rooted leadership into action.

🌱 As a member of GTAC, Jannet will bring her experiences as a Latine educator into statewide conversations about education and help ensure the realities of Latine students, families, and educators are part of the conversation. When our communities have a seat at the table, the conversation, and what’s possible, changes.

🧡 ¡Felicidades, Jannet! We’re proud to see your leadership continue to grow and your impact reach even further. From dreams to action!

🧡We were excited to return to Elon Acadamy's Summer Academy and spend time with an incredible group of incoming University first-year students.

🌱 Together, we explored cultural roots, identity, and community cultural wealth. Reminding students that the stories, languages, experiences, and wisdom they carry are strengths that belong in every classroom and space they enter.

🎓 Gracias, Elon Academy for welcoming us back and continuing to invest in first-generation students and their journeys. We’re honored to play a small part in helping the next generation recognize the power they already carry.
