REcompute gets dozens of unsolicited emails every day. People and companies who think we sell laptops. People and companies who think we're looking for and need $500k+ in financing. Neither is true. Some of these emails are from bots, of course. This is par for the course. Some of them are from people who do not pay full attention to our mission. Can't do anything about that.

All we need are older and unused laptops from you or your company or organization. They are wiped clean and sanitized. We have absolutely no interest in what is on your hard drives, so we wipe them clean so we can install a free operating system, Linux, enabling recipients of the free laptops to pursue their professional, personal or academic goals, so they can cross the and enjoy the so many of us take for granted.

Some recent recipients of laptops from REcompute, all donated by members of the community. Nina, Aaronn and Keanya, who all gave permission for their photos to be published, will use their laptops for work and study pursuits. We wish them every success in their endeavours!

It's my turn to express gratitude, which I am so happy to do. Not mentioning names, as people have expressed privacy, but in the last couple of weeks, several laptop donors, and recipients (!), have provided REcompute with some financial donations, which are enabling me to purchase batteries for donated working laptops to provide full functionality. Some batteries have arrived and been distributed, and others are on their way. I am so grateful to these folks who have supported this program to improve the lives of others. Thank you!
