40 Days for Life - Champaign-Urbana

40 Days for Life - Champaign-Urbana Peaceful prayer to save babies' lives. Part of an international, peaceful prayer collaboration each fall and spring in communities all over the world.

CAN YOU DEVOTE JUST ONE HOUR TO PRAY in the hope that a baby’s life may be spared? 40 Days for Life is a multi-church, multi-faith, international collaboration to pray peacefully for an end to abortion and for help and healing for all affected by abortion. Pro-life supporters are encouraged to pray outside abortion clinics such as our local Planned Parenthood and the new, interestingly named Equit

y Clinic. The abortion industry itself states that as many as 70% of abortion clients do NOT go thru with an abortion if they see people out praying with pro-life signage. Many of them instead find free, faith-based pregnancy centers for genuine help, love and compassion. Please devote JUST ONE HOUR just one time sometime between Feb. 22 and April 2. Visit www.40daysforlife.com to sign up for more details, for daily inspirational email messages and to sign up online for JUST ONE HOUR on the vigil calendar. In general, prayers are requested from 7 am to 7 pm seven days a week, but are also especially helpful on specific days when the abortion clinics are open (see details below). Champaign-Urbana is one of many communities participating in 40 Days for Life, the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization of this kind in history.

Much gratitude 👏 🙏 to all who shared talent and treasure💰 to get the Pro-Life Billboard Project 2.0 up and running! The purpose is to help more people to find the many, free, faith-based pregnancy centers in our area and all over the country.

We now have both digital and non-digital, traditional size billboards rented in various locations around greater Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. These are in addition to our regular, smaller billboards that we do entirely on our own.

It was hard to capture a photo of the digital Billboard without some odd lines showing up, but those aren't visible when you actually see it.

For anyone who meant to make a donation toward the rental cost, and perhaps forgot to do so, gifts are still most welcome and appreciated. 🙏

Details about how to donate will be posted in the comments.
God is on the move!

Very grateful 🙏 🙌 to the wonderful folks from Voices for Life in Indiana who made it a priority to drive 🚗 4 hours round-trip to come pray 🙏 and sidewalk counsel outside both abortion facilities in Champaign today, both the Equity Clinic and Planned Parenthood.

Grateful to the local area folks who joined us as well.

Praying that God continues to send more laborers for the harvest. Peaceful, public prayer saves lives.

One person and one heart at a time.❤️💜💖

At least these babies knew how much they were loved and they died in the loving arms of their parents.

Amanda Powell refused to abort her twins, allowing them to die in her loving arms.

Amanda & Jon Powell were thrilled to be expecting identical twin boys, Walker & Clark.

But at 15 weeks, Amanda began to bleed and went to the ER. She learned she had a subchorionic hemorrhage and was placed on bed rest.

But at 19 weeks, one of the twins’ waters broke.

Doctors offered to abort the babies, but Amanda refused, wanting to give them a chance. The boys needed 3 more weeks to be strong enough for doctors to intervene if they were born.

But Jonathan “Walker” Powell & Clark Alexander Powell were born a few days later at 19 weeks & 3 days.

“Our perfect identical boys were born with strong, beating hearts, but at 19 weeks and 3 days they did not have the proper lung development to survive outside of my body. John and I were able to hold them and love them… They were very much alive at birth and Clark even startled to our voices a couple of times, which made our hearts feel joy even in the midst of so much pain.” - Amanda Powell

If Amanda and Jon had decided to abort Walter and Clark, their little boys would have been brutally dismembered limb from limb in a D&E abortion.

They would have felt it all.

Instead, Amanda and Jon gave their children a chance to live and to die in the comfort of their arms. Now, Amanda and Jon share their sons’ photos for others to see the humanity of preborn babies and reject abortion.

No matter the diagnosis, EVERY child deserves a chance at life and love.

ACTION ALERT REGARDING DANGEROUS LEGISLATION BEING PUSHED IN ILLINOIS -- HB 4834 has passed the House and is now in the Senate.

If this bill becomes law, Illinois will remove the abortion pill from the Prescription Monitoring Program, a system designed to track high-risk drugs and protect patients from preventable harm.

This means:

1. It will become significantly harder to identify complications like hemorrhaging, sepsis, and life-threatening infections.
2. It will become more difficult for physicians to have a full picture of a patient’s (the woman who has taken the abortion pill) recent medical history in an emergency.
3. It will become nearly impossible to track patterns of harm tied to a drug that is already sending women to the ER at alarming rates.

A large-scale analysis of insurance data found that nearly 1 in 9 women - almost 11% - experienced a serious adverse event within 45 days of taking the abortion pill.

And instead of strengthening oversight and trying to PROTECT WOMEN FROM HARM, this bill actively removes it.

Illinois Right to Life Action has made it simple to take action. They’ve created a prewritten message you can send directly to your State Senator urging them to vote NO on HB 4834. Of course, you can modify this message as you see fit.

Please contact your Illinois State Senator to ask them to VOTE NO on HB 4834.
