Beth here. My son does beautiful origami creations. His latest art inspires me today. Especially since it comes from one large piece of origami paper.
I have a blank piece of paper in front of me today too. Our Board is taking some steps forward with ReStart, growing and deepening what we do. My blank piece of paper, when complete, will hopefully contain the details and timeline as well as an invitation to our followers and customers on how they can financially support us. Our ReStart campaign will kick off after the July 4th holiday.
But, like creating this origami art piece, which depends on the first fold, the starting point to our continued growth in ReStart is also critical. It centers on WHY. Everything else hinges on it. In our last Board Meeting, Tiffany provided that answer when she quoted a woman from The Chosen who had just encountered Jesus. Her life radically changed because of their meeting. She said, "I didn't need to be rescued, I needed to be received."
Then, Tiffany said "This is ReStart--walking alongside, supporting their journey, and providing a safe space to heal and grow. It won't be complete--it never can be, but it can be good. There is no failure if we love with Christ's love. If we do this, we are about the work of the Father." Amen.
It's more than bringing in two or three more women...though we plan that. It's more than additional benefits like professional trauma counseling, though we started offering that last year. It's more than providing after care and continued support to those who request it...though that part of our ministry has doubled. Its starting from a place of receiving, not rescuing. Without saying it, that attitude has been our practice. As the years go by, though, God keeps refining us so we reflect Christ more.
BTW the origami piece shown here is the Phoenix. Out of the ashes, beauty rises. Indeed it does. If you'd like to support the work of ReStart, we'd welcome your help. https://www.orphanstreasurebox.org/give/ πΊ
