The Illini 4000 is a non-profit organization dedicated to documenting the American cancer experience through The Portraits Project, raising funds for cancer research and patient support services, as well as spreading awareness for the fight against cancer through annual cross-country bike rides.

Who can do Illini 4000 and how exactly do we do what we do? The Bike America Ride can certainly seem big and scary at first, but we like to remind people that if 19 generations of Illini 4000 riders (that is, students from all sorts of financial and athletic backgrounds, majors, and countries) have successfully done the ride before you, then you can too ☺︎ We strongly believe Illini 4000 is a transformative experience for everyone 🧡
