The AFSCME 47th International Convention will be held in Chicago this year.

We will be holding an election to fill an open delegate spot. Election fliers have been mailed out to all members.

Nominations and Election will be held at the AFSCME office, room 203 at the Lincoln Square Mall in Urbana at 6pm June 22nd.

The convention will be held in Chicago, August 17th thru the 21st.

If you are interested in becoming a delegate, you must be present at the election.

Delegates from AFSCME locals, councils and retiree chapters will join together for a week of debate, networking, skills learning, political action and more.

3700 and 698 members joined other AFSCME locals from universities around the state on Wednesday ,meeting with lawmakers to discuss equitably funding universities and addressing the pay disparities between university employees and their state counterparts.

After 28 days on the line, the ISU strike is OVER—and AFSCME Local 1110 prevailed!

Members ratified their new contract last night and return to work today. For four weeks, they held the line and refused to back down until they won fair pay and respect. And that’s exactly what they got.

Helping to make it happen was the incredible support of the students, faculty, staff, alumni, elected officials and AFSCME members across Illinois who showed up and stood together. Solidarity carries the day!
