A Supportive Community For All

A Supportive Community For All Creating a more equitable Snoqualmie Valley, together. As we build organizational strength, we hope to continue to expand the range of projects we support.

Our mission is to create a more equitable Snoqualmie Valley by engaging, connecting, and supporting people and organizations working together to build a community where all members can thrive. Drawing on the collective impact model, A Supportive Community For All (SCFA) serves as backbone support for people and organizations working together to transform systems and create a community where all me

mbers can thrive. As is common for collective impact initiatives in the early phases, our backbone organization is focused on guiding our partners toward a shared vision, supporting aligned activities, establishing shared measurement practices, and cultivating community engagement and ownership by developing a governance structure to ensure that the work is community-led. Currently, SCFA’s primary area of work continues to be provision of support to the Snoqualmie Valley Human Services Coalition, a growing group of human service providers, faith communities, medical and behavioral health providers, in their efforts to work together in new ways to connect community members to the human services and other resources they need through a collaborative Referral and Navigation Program that provides centralized access to human services in the Snoqualmie Valley. We also provide fiscal sponsorship to Snovalley Pride, an emerging group of volunteers that seeks to honor the unique and diverse voices living in the Valley, to strengthen and build our community by providing safe spaces to gather, and to celebrate q***r voices and perspectives in local arts, music and culture. Fiscal sponsorship enables them to seek grant funding, accept tax-deductible donations and expand their transformational work in our community. As an organization, our role is to build community power and support our partners in fulfilling their vision for transformative change. We recognize that this work is a starting point, not an answer, and that equity-focused work is continuous; it requires many voices and a deep, ongoing commitment to dismantling the root causes of inequities in the Snoqualmie Valley and elsewhere.

β€œNo single organization can solve these problems alone.”

We are so proud to provide leadership for the Snovalley Human Services Coalition, a group of organizations working together to increase the accessibility of human services in our community. This video, created in partnership with Original Studios and supported by King County Communities of Opportunity, shares a bit about what we do, how we do it, and what we’re working towards – together. Need support and not sure where to turn? Our case managers can help you understand what resources are available to you, and connect you to organizations and services that can help (including state benefits like SNAP!). Give us a call at 425-470-5921.

We're proud to partner with the Snovalley Human Services Coalition, HealthierHere, and the Washington Connections Program through DSHS to get community members connected to the resources they need.

Big thanks to River Teslar of the GSBA for joining us to provide a presentation on the current climate for LGBTQ+ folks for members of the Snovalley Human Services Coalition.

Offering capacity building opportunities is a key component of the backbone role we fill for the coalition. We love bringing in wise folks like River to share their experience and knowledge with our network!

Once a week, our staff team participates in "Reading Hour" - a dedicated time where we sit together and read a book of our own choosing that supports our professional growth, personal development, or well-being.

We check-in afterward with two simple questions:
- How are you as a human?
- What are you reading?

In a world that keeps telling us to go faster, this is an intentional time that supports our ability to slow down, think, connect with each other, and learn together.

This week, the weather was too good to pass up, so we took Reading Hour outside!
