Our Boys & Girls Club helps 250 kids each day to build their own great future by being a safe place, developing character and supporting academic success.

The Boys & Girls Club of Burlington (www.bandgclub.org) Vermont has been a cornerstone for youth services in the Old North End of the city for 78 years. Our mission is to inspire and enable community youth, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, healthy, responsible and caring citizens. We offer programs for youth in grades K - 12 from our two locations in Burlington: our main Clubhouse on Oak Street and from the Integrated Arts Academy at HO Wheeler. The Club has a current enrollment of 520 full time members. Shifts in population, enrollment status, frequency of drop-ins, and migrating families mean that we actually serve upwards of 250 members annually and, as an extension, more than 1,000 community youth and families through our many outreach activities. The Club has long fulfilled the need for a safe, constructive and fun place for the youngsters living in the neighborhoods of the Old North End of Burlington and Winooski. Through our comprehensive programming, our members learn valuable life skills that help them to avoid high risk behaviors and overcome obstacles to success.

👩‍🍳🍎 Our Junior Chefs are cooking up something special!

Our 6th–8th grade Club members are taking part in a six-week Junior Chefs culinary and nutrition program, where they're building confidence, learning new skills, and discovering the joy of cooking!

Each week, our young chefs explore a new kitchen concept, from food safety and nutrition to food science and cooking techniques. They put their skills into practice by preparing and enjoying a delicious dish together, while documenting their experiences in their very own Chef’s Journals.

Throughout the program, kids are learning to identify flavors, experiment with ingredients, and get creative in the kitchen. The program wraps up with a special Chef’s Challenge, where they plan, prepare, and present a dish of their own!

A special shout-out to Mia for leading this wonderful program and creating such a fun, hands-on learning experience for our Club members. Thank you, Mia! ❤️

We're so proud of our young chefs as they build confidence, creativity, and lifelong skills—one recipe at a time! 🥕🍽️

🔬✨ **Learning, creating, and exploring!**

Our kids got hands-on with the world of technology alongside our friends from GlobalFoundries! They designed and built 3D models of microchips while learning about how microchips are used in everyday life, as well as exploring transistors and semiconductors.

We love giving our Club members opportunities to learn from local professionals, ask questions, get creative, and discover the science behind the technology they use every day! 💡🧠

A huge thank you to GlobalFoundries for spending time with our kids and making STEM learning fun and engaging! And thank you to Vermont Afterschool for supporting opportunities like this that help bring meaningful, hands-on learning experiences to Vermont youth. 💚

🎾 What a fantastic day at the Boys & Girls Club! 💙
Last month, we were thrilled to welcome Vermont Lieutenant Governor John Rodgers to the Club, where he spent time on the tennis court playing with our kids! It was wonderful to see our young members having fun, getting active, and enjoying the opportunity to connect with one of Vermont’s leaders.
Moments like these remind our kids that their community believes in them, supports them, and wants to see them succeed. We’re so grateful to Lt. Governor Rodgers for taking the time to join us, play some tennis, and share plenty of smiles along the way! 🎾🙌
Thank you, Lt. Governor John Rodgers, for spending time with our Club kids!
