The Pride Center of Vermont is pleased to announce the return of the Trans Support Groups, beginning in May 2026!

Anyone who identifies within the trans, nonbinary, two spirit, agender, intersex, and genderfluid communities are welcome, and anyone questioning their gender identity are warmly invited.

Our in-person meetings will be on the second Tuesday, 6-8pm, at Outright Vermont (monthly).
Our virtual meetings will be on the fourth Tuesday, 6-8pm, on zoom (monthly).

Our first in-person group is on 5/12 and our first zoom meeting is on 5/26!
To access our zoom link, visit: tinyurl.com/TransSupportGroups2026
Feel free to contact [email protected] with questions, concerns, accommodation requests or for more information.

The purpose of the Trans Support Groups is to provide space for trans people to build community and solidarity, offer each other empowerment and care, and promote belonging and resilience. By and for trans communities in Vermont, the Trans Support Groups are not clinical support groups, not run by mental health professionals, nor are they intended to pathologize, diagnose, or provide direct services. The Trans Support Groups are spaces where trans communities and those questioning gender identity can share experiences, ask questions, find support, and build community. Facilitators are trans community members trained in group dynamics and will offer referrals to community resources.

Comments: We recognize cisgender allies may be seeking opportunities to show up and support trans communities, and we are grateful for this energy. However, the Trans Support Groups are not the appropriate venues for those who solidly identify as cisgender, as we prioritize identity affinity in these spaces. Holding these spaces for those who are trans, nonbinary, and/or questioning their gender identity promotes safety and ease for those in the space, which can allow for vulnerability when relinquished from fears of surveillance, voyeurism, or cissexist harm. Thank you for understanding!

Pride Center is excited to host our first trans social event for 2026. All trans, intersex, nonbinary, two spirit, and gender-questioning community members are welcome to join us for free axe throwing and pizza, Thursday, April 23, 6-8pm at Burly Axe in the Old North End of Burlington!

Unleash your trans rage by learning to throw axes in trans-affirming environment! Soak in some trans joy by strengthening connections and making new friends.

is excited to provide a gender affirming space for our trans community, with wheelchair accessibility and gender-inclusive restrooms. Burly Axe is proud to be part of the International Axe Throwing Federation, which is the governing body for the sport. The IATF does not use gender in their competitions. While axe throwing might sound like a masculine-coded activity, we're told it's incredibly supportive and affirming of all genders and expressions!

Please keep in mind there are scents used in neighboring buildings that may seep into the space. Don't hesitate to contact [email protected] if you have any questions, concerns, or requests for accommodations!

🏳️‍⚧️This TDOV, the Pride Center of Vermont is excited to announce that we will be hosting virtual and in-person Trans Support Groups again beginning in May! Look out for more information about dates and locations soon! 🏳️‍⚧️

Each year, Trans Day of Visibility is celebrated internationally on March 31st. Today we celebrate our trans communities, siblings, kins, ancestors, and future descendants!

Trans Day of Visibility is about trans empowerment, solidarity, and a commitment to trans liberation. Today, we rage for trans justice and we dance with trans joy. We remember, thank, and honor our transcestors, especially trans women of color, who fought for trans rights and dared to be themselves. We acknowledge the continued violence trans people face, and we refuse to accept trans oppression, cisheteropatriarchy, or the gender binary as normal or natural.

We dream of trans futures, and we commit to cultivating the trans imagination and visions for better worlds. We refuse to accept trans oppression, and we commit to ushering in a world where loving, honoring, embracing, and celebrating transness and trans people, gender creativity and exploration, and holistic authenticity are inevitable and woven into the fabric of our society. A world without trans people has never existed and never will!

As a part of our Community Mapping Exercise, we also hosted six (6) virtual affinity group conversations based on focused outreach to communities often underrepresented in statewide planning, including BIPOC communities, transgender community members, rural communities, individuals with disabilities, youth and elders. To honor participants’ time and contributions, the first 15 people to register for each affinity conversation received a $50 gift card. If you were not able to participate in an affinity group conversation, but would like to share your perspective, we will continue to accept Community Wisdom form submissions through April. We’re launching a statewide Community Mapping Project to help guide the Pride Center’s next chapter 🌈 Led by Madison Barney (she/her) of The Center for Story & Strategy, this listening-first process will gather input from 2STLGBQIA+ Vermonters across the state to identify what services and spaces already exist across the state to meet those needs, and evaluate where gaps, overlaps and opportunities lie (from nonprofits to grassroots networks)

📍 Hybrid listening sessions in Northern (3/18), Central (3/19), and Southern (3/24) VT
📝 Online Community Wisdom Forms for individuals & organizations (Link in Bio)
🤝 Focused outreach to BIPOC, trans, rural, individuals with disabilities, youth, and elder communities

Findings will directly inform the Center’s strategic direction, strengthen partnerships statewide, and support advocacy rooted in real community insight.

This is about rebuilding thoughtfully, transparently, and in true relationship with our community
