🎃What happens when dinosaurs, Minions, Ghostbusters, Dalmatians, Winnie the Pooh, Stitch, Cinderella, Santa, a SWAT truck, and hundreds of pieces of candy all end up in one parking lot?
Our annual Boo! Bash, of course!🎃

What an incredible evening celebrating Halloween with the children and families we serve at The Center for Family Justice.
From stepping into Cinderella’s sparkling carriage and strolling through Santa’s holiday wonderland to exploring the City of Bridgeport (CT) Police Department SWAT and purple Domestic Violence awareness vehicles and trick-or-treating at some of the most creative trunks we’ve ever seen, every corner was filled with fun, laughter, and a little bit of magic🪄

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing community of volunteers and partners who made the night possible:

🚔 Bridgeport Police Department for bringing the SWAT vehicle and Purple DV Awareness vehicle

🧡 And our incredible CFJ staff, who truly outdid themselves with costumes, themes, decorations, and endless enthusiasm

From a roaring Dinosaur Park and Ghostbusters headquarters to 101 Dalmatians, Winnie the Pooh and friends, Minion Mania, and so many other imaginative displays, our volunteers turned an ordinary parking lot into a Halloween adventure our families won’t soon forget🎃👻

Most importantly, thank you to the children and families who joined us.
Seeing your costumes, hearing your laughter, and watching our community come together to create joy is what Boo! Bash is all about!

It takes a village to create moments like these, and once again, our village showed up. 🧡🎃🍭

On Tuesday, our community gathered at Seaside Park in Bridgeport for The Center for Family Justice’s annual Domestic Violence Awareness Month Vigil. 💜

Together, we honored the 23 Connecticut lives lost to domestic violence this past year, uplifted survivors, and reaffirmed our commitment to a future free from violence.💜

We were honored to hear from CFJ CEO Mark Antonini, City of Bridgeport (CT) Police Department Chief Roderick Porter, City of Bridgeport, CT Council President Jeanette Herron, Meghan Scanlon, CEO of the CCADV, and survivor leader Elba Santos, who shared the impact of CFJ’s survivor-led VOICES group.

We are grateful for the support of Stratford Mayor David Chess, Trumbull First Selectwoman Vicki Tesoro, State Representatives Cristin McCarthy Vahey and Antonio Felipe, Trumbull Police Chief Michael Lombardo, Fire Chief Mark Cody, and Senator Richard Blumenthal.

Through the reading of the 23 victims’ names, the placement of white flowers, and moving performances by Ruth McEnnis and Sarah Putnam, we were reminded that every life matters and every survivor deserves safety, support, and hope.

Thank you to everyone who stood with us in remembrance and solidarity. 🕯️

Survivors are not alone. Their voices matter. And those we have lost will never be forgotten.
