Even given the severity of the issues we attempt to mitigate with Hope Blooms in Bridgeport, we found several occasions to laugh and let our silly sides out this past Wednesday.
Because community puts people at ease.
It is the gathering of neighbors who want to help other neighbors.
To accept all sides of them—all conditions they may find themselves in.
It is looking across the room to share a smile, laugh, or a teary-eyed look that says, "Hey, we're human. Let's help each other out."
It is looking at the circumstances of the world around us and saying, "This can't be allowed to happen."
That is what love is.
That is community.
