What a wonderful day in New Britain at Wheeler Health!📚💙

We were thrilled to join Connecticut distribution event alongside our community partners to connect with families and share the joy of reading. We provided books and literacy resources to support children and caregivers throughout our community.

We are also incredibly grateful to the The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain their continued support of Read to Grow and the many programs we provide throughout their service area. Their support helps us reach more children and families with books and early literacy resources every day.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and to our incredible partners for making the day such a success. When we work together, we can make an even greater impact for Connecticut families! ✨

Books for Babies had such a wonderful time at the SEPI-CT/Wheeler Community Baby Shower in Waterbury! 💛📚

Shoutout to our incredible partners at Help Me Grow and Sparkler for joining us for this special event. We also got to meet the sweetest 3-year-old who loves reading to her mommy 🥹✨

Moments like these remind us how meaningful it is to foster a love of reading from the very beginning.

A Night for the Books: Part 2 📚✨

A huge shoutout to Zucca Gastrobar for the incredible food inspired by our “Where Love Grows” theme, and to Alina’s Cakes and Cookies for the beautiful sweets that perfectly tied into the theme as well. Thank you both for the stunning displays and all the care and effort you put into making the night so special.

for keeping the crowd lively, engaged, and energized throughout the entire evening. It was such a pleasure to have you be a part of the night!

Last week, we gathered with supporters, partners, authors, artists, and advocates from across Connecticut for A Night for The Books—a celebration of literacy, community, and the many places where love grows. 💛📚

Inspired by our new baby board book, Where Love Grows by Janet Costa Bates and illustrated by Lynn Gaines, the evening highlighted the power of love, learning, and connection in helping children thrive. We were also honored to welcome State Representative Robin Comey and celebrate our 2026 Community Champion Award recipients, Filling in the Blanks and The Diaper Bank of Connecticut✨

A HUGE thanks to The Westport Library for allowing us to use your space for this incredible event!

It was such a pleasure bringing our volunteers together for Trusting Books: The Art of Reading Aloud 💛📚

This hands-on workshop, led by Hannah Schneewind, focused on building confidence and joy in reading aloud with children—sharing practical tools, meaningful strategies, and real-life approaches volunteers can use every day.

Together, we explored why reading aloud matters, how to choose the right books, and simple ways to make every read aloud engaging and impactful. ✨
