**4th Annual Mullets for Mutts Fundraiser Raises Over $28,000 for Local Police K9 Programs**
The 4th Annual Mullets for Mutts fundraiser has wrapped up with an impressive total of over $28,000 raised to support local police K9 programs in Branford, North Branford, East Haven, New Haven, and North Haven. This year’s event underscored the community's commitment to enhancing law enforcement capabilities through the invaluable contributions to police dogs and handlers.
A portion of the funds raised will benefit various K9 units, providing essential resources for training, equipment, and care, ensuring that these teams can effectively serve and protect our communities. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds is earmarked for Branford High School’s dog therapy program, “Paws for a Cause,” which plays a crucial role in promoting mental health and well-being among students through therapeutic interactions with dogs.
The event brought together community members for a day of fun and camaraderie, showcasing the power of collective action for a worthy cause. The enthusiastic turnout and generous donations highlight the community’s deep appreciation for the work of local law enforcement and their K9 partners.
Because of all the generous contributions and support, we far surpassed our initial goal which has left us with residual funds. With these funds we plan on donating to support Branford groups first and foremost then reaching out to surrounding towns to see if we can assist with any of their K9 needs.
