These Blackstone Library souvenir spoons were created in the library's very early days of its opening, around the late 1890's. This particular one was discovered in someone's attic and given to the library so we can display it! It'll be in our top floor display case, along with a couple of other spoons and other custom ceramic pieces featuring our amazing building! Stop by and take a look!

The freedom to read is under attack — let’s do something about it!
Today is "Let Freedom Read Day" and we’re joining the ALA Office for Intellectual Freedom in partnership with the Banned Books Week Coalition, to ask everyone to take at least one action to help defend books from censorship and to stand up for the library staff, educators, writers, publishers, and booksellers who make them available!
And don’t forget: Censorship won’t stop just because Banned Books Week does — you can take action any day of the year! Visit https://bannedbooksweek.org/let-freedom-read-day for an action plan that works for you!
