The Big Sky Wind Drinkers is a running club for all ages and ability levels in Bozeman, Montana. We are a family-friendly, non-competitive group that meets with the purpose of fitness, support, and fun. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been running for years or taking your first running steps. Join us this year for the 49th John Colter Run out at Missouri Headwaters State Park on Saturday, Sept. 19. The Colter Run is approximately 7.0-miles long on beautiful, but rugged prairie trails. Learn a bit about the local fur trapper, and the journey he endured in 1809. With a 50 caliber Hawkins black powder r***e start and two river crossings it's a fun, end-of-summer race for the whole family. Registration fills up every year, so jump in soon!

Our first September Fun Run is here. This Wednesday, we'll run around Hyalite Reservoir. Join us in the day-use area parking lot at 6:30 p.m. and as always there will be 1-, 3-, and 5-mile distances available. Hope to see you there!

The John Colter run is Sept. 19! A beautiful, 7.5-mile course in Missouri Headwaters State Park with a historical twist, including a 50 caliber Hawkins black powder r***e start and two chilly river crossings. The John Colter is a fun, end-of-summer race for the whole family.

This week we have a new fun run location paired with a potluck!

Join us Wednesday, Aug. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the playground at the bottom of N Spruce. We'll run our usual 1, 3 and 5 mile routes and end at the Dougher's Home (1335 Cherry Dr). Burgers and dogs will be cooked at the finish line. Bring a dish or a side to share with everyone if you are able. Please come even if you are unable to bring a dish, there will be enough for everyone.

Street Parking available at the playground on Spruce, or around 1335 Cherry Dr. Hope to see you there!

This week's fun run is a favorite—South Cottonwood! Join us Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 6:30 p.m. We'll have 1, 3 and 5 mile distances along South Cottonwood Creek. The forecast looks warm, but the trail is pretty shady, so it should be a great run!

This week's Fun Run is at Bogert Park on Aug. 5 starting at 6:30 p.m. Look for our Wind Drinker table on the lawn to the south of the pool. We'll have three distances available, 1, 3, and 5 miles and the routes will run from Bogert park to South Church, and head south along the Gallagator Trail. Hope to see you there!

This week is the Lower Mount Ellis Fun Run, on Wednesday, July 29 starting at 6:30 p.m. We'll have 1, 3 and 5 mile options available for all ages and abilities. Hope to see you there!

This Wednesday is the Middle Cottonwood Fun Run! Meet at the trailhead at 6:30 p.m. It'll be another hot one, luckily we have a creek and shade to protect us. We'll have 1, 3 and 5 mile options available.
