Montana 4-H Montana 4-H is the youth development program of Montana State University Extension. It is the largest, out-of-school youth development program in the state.

Fall means the time of year for new 4-H steers and heifers being brought home. To help set your project up for success, here are some helpful hints.
Cattle are herd animals, so do not bring them home to be by themselves. Having a buddy animal with them will be important all the way through.
While it is tempting to jump into working with your project animal when you arrive home, give them a few days to calm down and adjust to their new surroundings. Be present where they can see you, but stay out of their personal space.
Don't make major changes to their feeding regiment. Make changes gradually and mix old rations with new rations to lower the risk of them going off feed or having health issues.

A big thank you to the Charging Home Stampede 4-H Livestock, Food Booth, and Exhibit Committee for going above and beyond this year. Their dedication, leadership, and willingness to step in wherever needed helped support more than 60 4-H members throughout fair week.

From Sept. 1 – Nov. 1, for every Starlink Kit purchased and registered at Tractor Supply, the first month’s subscription will support 4-H.

This National 4-H Week, we’re celebrating the incredible volunteers, leaders, and supporters who make 4-H possible! From helping youth in the show ring and working with livestock to exploring STEM projects and learning new skills, these individuals make a lasting impact on our 4-H members.

4-H members, alumni, volunteers, Collegiate 4-H members, MSU Extension faculty and staff, and faculty from across campus came together at the Bobcat to celebrate National 4-H Week.

This photo represents more than those who could join us today. It represents the people, partnerships, and collaboration that make 4-H happen each and every day, on the MSU campus and in communities across Montana.
