Party shorts to celebrate four years of bagged life. It’s not always easy, but sure beats the alternative. I’m grateful for fellow ostomy patients I’ve connected with and all the WOC nurses for making life (and my skin) smooth.

Mental health deserves the same attention and awareness as my diabetes, ostomy, and sarcoid care.

Counselors have helped me through the ups and downs of managing multiple illnesses, and movement also plays an important part in my care.

Yoga has become a nice outlet and EverGreen partnered with Sarah Jones to provide a free series of restorative yoga for our local community.

Sarah is a gifted teacher and welcomes you to class with kindness and support. I’m grateful for her friendship and willingness to help others experience the benefits of yoga.

Today is global IBD day, so it’s fitting I was due for an ostomy bag change. It’s not always easy, but I still get to enjoy time on the trails and will forever appreciate a clean public bathroom.

We are excited to launch the EverGreen Trails of Service Nursing Scholarship fund.

Nurses are the foundation of support, education, and care for members of the chronic illness community and caregivers. From T1D, ostomy care, pacemaker adjustments, and general care, they continue to be vital to my wellbeing.

But the career choice is not easy. From staffing and pay shortages to the emotional toll it takes personally and professionally.

We want to play a small role in helping students pursing degrees in nursing. Our scholarship will start small, and hopefully with your help will grow each year.

We are excited to once again partner with for a free series of restorative yoga. It’s open to all community members and will be held at the Kiln co-working space.

We delivered ostomy supplies collected through private donations to our local wound center today. A new year is cause for celebration and for those managing health conditions, it can also bring added stress as deductibles reset. In the U.S. for 2026, we also receive the added gift of increasing premiums and the outright loss of benefits for some.

If you’re in need of ostomy supplies, you can contact your local hospital to see if they stock donated supplies. You can also check with organizations like as they provide a valuable resource for those in need.

We are grateful to for being included as a HealthCentral Chronic Health Innovator for 2025!

We founded EverGreen with a passion to serve the chronic illness community. A true grassroots effort, our volunteer led organization continues to find unique and meaningful ways to support patients and caregivers through outdoor adventures and community events.

We appreciate Health Central for their support of the chronic illness community, and for recognizing management of chronic conditions is fluid and unique to individuals.

I’m grateful for every moment outdoors and realize not everyone managing chronic health conditions has this luxury.

Whether it’s a walk to the mailbox or up a set of switchbacks, it’s an adventure in our book.
