Music has the power to tell stories. Stories of love, hope, joy, strength, and so much more. Cellists for Change has commissioned 13 pieces—27 unique movements—since our inception, each of which tells a story. It was such a blast to share 12 of these stories with our community last month at our official album release concert at the Boulder Public Library! Words cannot express how proud we are of our youth cellists here at CFC. The Unstoppable Boy & Other Stories is now available on our bandcamp page (link in bio). Check it out!

La música tiene el poder de contar historias. Historias de amor, esperanza, alegría, fortaleza y mucho más. Desde nuestra fundación, Cellists for Change ha encargado 13 piezas —27 movimientos únicos— cada una de las cuales cuenta una historia. ¡Fue una verdadera maravilla compartir 12 de estas historias con nuestra comunidad el mes pasado, durante el concierto oficial de lanzamiento de nuestro álbum en la Biblioteca Pública de Boulder! Back in January, Guatemalan artist Juan Manuel Sáenz donated one of his incredible water colors to our organization to raise money in support of our youth scholarship program at Escuela de Cuerdas in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. Today, his painting found its new home! Thank you Kim and Tom Novak for generously purchasing this beautiful artwork and increasing access to music education in the Western Highlands of Guatemala. Thank you Manolo for your talent, your heart, and your commitment to the arts in Huehue! This partnership is a testament to sharing music without limits, without barriers, and without flags. Gracias a todos!

En enero, el artista guatemalteco Juan Manuel Sáenz donó una de sus increíbles acuarelas a nuestra organización para recaudar fondos para nuestro programa de becas juveniles con la Escuela de Cuerdas en Huehuetenango, Guatemala. ¡Hoy, su pintura encontró un nuevo hogar! Gracias a Kim y Tom Novak por la generosa adquisición de esta hermosa obra y por ampliar el acceso a la educación musical en el Altiplano Occidental de Guatemala. ¡Gracias a Manolo por tu talento, tu corazón y tu compromiso con las artes en Huehue! Last weekend we performed in the lobby before the Longmont Symphony’s incredible concert featuring cellist Clancy Newman! We were all blown away by Clancy’s powerful sound and were beyond honored to get to meet and chat with him during intermission. Thank you Longmont Symphony for this wonderful opportunity and thank you Clancy Newman for inspiring our youth cellists!

El fin de semana pasado, actuamos en el vestíbulo antes del increíble concierto de la Sinfónica de Longmont con el violonchelista Clancy Newman. Quedamos maravillados con el potente sonido de Clancy y fue un honor poder conocerlo y charlar con él durante el intermedio. ¡Gracias a la Sinfónica de Longmont por esta maravillosa oportunidad y gracias a Clancy Newman por inspirar a nuestros jóvenes violonchelistas!

This school of music—it’s teachers, students, and administrators—is a very special place. The amount of love, support, and commitment they bring to everything they do is inspiring! We are profoundly grateful for our friendship with this incredible community. Earlier this month we had the honor of performing at Macky before the Boulder Phil’s concert featuring cellist extraordinaire Rainer Eudeikis! His performance of Schumann’s Cello Concerto was stunning and talking with him afterwards was super inspirational for our young musicians. Thank you for this amazing opportunity! A principios de este mes, tuvimos el honor de actuar en el Auditorio Macky antes del concierto de la Orquesta Filarmónica de Boulder, que contó con la participación del extraordinario violonchelista Rainer Eudeikis. As we welcome in the new year, CFC reflects back on our heartwarming holiday concerts in December. It was an honor to share our music with the Colorado Children’s Hospital, the Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence, and Sunrise Assisted Living Facility. Here we come 2026! (Keep an eye out for the release of our debut album, The Unstoppable Boy and Other Stories, in March!)
