Festivals Become More Sustainable Through the Choices We Make Before We Arrive, While We're There, and Long After We Leave.

Congratulations to the Hippie Jerry Campsite Challenge Grand Prize Winners!
These camp hosts and Festivarians didn't just talk about sustainability, they live it. They shared countless ways they reduce their impact on the festival, fellow campers, and the surrounding environment while inspiring others to do the same.

Their campsite showed that sustainability is built through thoughtful choices before, during, and after the festival.

Even better, many of these practices can be used at home to reduce waste and conserve resources year-round.

Thank you for demonstrating what stewardship and community can look like in action. Congratulations on earning this year's Grand Prize! 👏🌎💚

Leave No Trace is about more than following "rules." It's about the choices you make when there's no sign, no ranger, and no one watching. Those choices are what actually protect the places you love, even when nobody’s watching.

Attending Switchback Spring 2026, June 16-18? Be sure to stop by booth #106 - we can’t wait to see you there!

Don’t miss our own Matt Schneider on June 18 at 12pm for his session, "Brand Experiences That Protect the Places We Love", a conversation we think will resonate with anyone passionate about the outdoors and the brands that serve it.

Whether you’re attending Switchback or not, we'd love to connect. Reach out to schedule some time, and let's talk about how we can work to inspire responsible recreation!

Happy National Trails Day! 🥾🌿

There’s no better way to celebrate our trails than by caring for them.

As part of the Leave No Trace Spotlight program with Boulder OSMP, we joined community members at Boulder Valley Ranch for a stewardship project focused on construction, improve trail sustainability, help protect sensitive habitats, and improve accessibility for everyone who visits.

Stewardship is at the heart of both National Trails Day and Leave No Trace. Through hands-on service and education, volunteers helped support a trail system that not only expands recreation opportunities but also includes 10-15 miles of accessible trails for adaptive hand cyclists. This helps create more opportunities for all people to connect with the outdoors.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, pitched in, and demonstrated that protecting our public lands is a shared responsibility. Every act of stewardship, big or small, helps ensure these trails remain healthy, welcoming, and enjoyable for generations to come.

National Trails Day is June 6, and this year we’re encouraging you to do more than simply spend time outdoors.

Trash on trails is a real problem, but we still don’t have all the data we need. That’s where you can help.

The Trash and Trails project, powered by CitSci.org and supported by Leave No Trace and the Bureau of Land Management , uses your trail observations to create research that land managers rely on.

Here’s how it works: download the CitSci app, join the Trash and Trails project, and report what you see. That’s all it takes. Each report, even from a single person on a single trail, contributes to a dataset that helps protect public lands year-round.

Download CitSci today to start making a difference.

Public lands belong to everyone, and right now, they need our support. Since the BLM's public lands rule was repealed, it is up to those who care about these places to protect them. That means us. By learning and following the 7 Principles, we can help take care of what we share. Get outside, speak up, and leave no trace.
