📣 Join Boston Food Access Council, Worcester County Food Bank, and Sam Montaño for a community potluck to break bread and share our experiences with SNAP.

📅 This Wednesday, we’re gathering at the People’s House to share a meal with our neighbors and legislators, all while discussing why Massachusetts needs a strong SNAP. If you have stories or feelings to share about how SNAP access has impacted your life, please join us!

📍 Meet at the entrance of 24 Beacon street at 10:30 AM. After sharing songs and stories outside, we’ll then move into the building for lunch in community with our elected officials.

If you’re having trouble getting through to DTA, you’re not alone. Your state legislators are supposed to help constituents (that’s you!) with casework, like applying for or keeping SNAP benefits.

At this weekend’s BFAC potluck, our community decorated paper plates with messages and drawings about the importance of keeping SNAP strong. These plates were given directly to Governor Maura Healey Maura Healey today. Earlier on WGBH, the governor fielded another question about SNAP access and DTA capacity. While on air, she promised to propose new funding for DTA in her supplemental budget. We hope to see her make good on that promise by including the $56M needed to make sure DTA caseworkers can pick up the phone when we call.
