IVAW Boston

IVAW Boston We are working to build a movement led by service members and veterans to transform ourselves, our culture, and our society to bring an end to militarism.

IVAW and the Boston Civilian Soldier Alliance are working on the campaign to address the medical concerns of Iraqis and US veterans and increase awareness regarding environmental issues and enduring toxic exposures endured by the Iraqi people. As veterans we had the privilege of leaving Iraq but there are still veterans who completed short deployments there who are suffering and even dying from toxic exposures.

Great new study of the obvious from the Strategic Studies Institute at the U.S. Army War College. "Eventually, their signature and word become tools to maneuver through the Army rather than symbols of integrity and honesty," the researchers wrote.

U.S. Army officers often resort to "evasion and deception," and everyone at the Pentagon knows it, according to a new study conducted by the U.S. Army War College.

Our members are able to perform at their best when their basic needs are being met, and we'd like to work toward taking more steps to address those needs. If we are able to exceed our goal by $30,000, we will be able to bring our members together next year for all scheduled programs while also extending more International Solidarity Fellowships to members of Iraq Veterans Against the War and the Civilian-Soldier Alliance and provide an intensive skill building stipend for members who want to become full time organizers.

Our community is the hub that turns the wheels of our work; it is at the center of everything we do, and our activism benefits our community in return.

Thinking of Chelsea Manning today on her 27th birthday. It is a travesty of justice that true patriots like Manning sit in prison while torturers like Dick Cheney are free to discuss their crimes on national TV. Manning has now spent almost 5 years behind bars out of a 35-year sentence for blowing the whistle on state crimes. Send Manning a birthday message http://bit.ly/1wZAyhn and join the Free whistleblower PVT Chelsea Manning community page to stay up-to-date with opportunities to advocate for her release.
