Rapid Assessment of Consumer Knowledge, otherwise known as RACK, is a study conducted rapidly (12 weeks or less) to understand a pressing public health problem or emergent trend from the perspective of people who use drugs.

This project is funded by a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Bureau of Substance Addiction Services. Brandeis University collaborates with communities to carry out this work and convey messages directly from people who use drugs to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

We are excited to kick off our eighth RACK study! Our next rapid assessment will be taking place over the upcoming months and is focused on hearing from persons who use drugs that also identify as Black and/or African American. We will be in the following cities: Boston, Brockton, Lynn, Fall River, Springfield, and Worcester. We are very much looking forward to speaking with many individuals and building meaningful connections!
