What happens when deposits leave a community bank?

Those dollars are no longer available to support local lending and investment in communities across Minnesota.

As the Senate prepares to take up the Clarity Act, Minnesota community bankers are speaking up about the need for a level playing field between traditional bank deposits and stablecoins offering interest-like rewards.

BankIn Minnesota Chair Bill LaVigne (The Bank of Elk River) and Vice Chair Randy Dorn (My Kind of Bank) shared the community bank perspective with the Minnesota Star Tribune.
