Our members are committed to causes and projects that empower youth and alleviate homelessness and hunger.

Most recently, we put together snack packs, which The Open Door will distribute to provide youth with extra food support to help them stay focused and energized during the school day or while on school breaks.

When Rotary International formed PolioPlus in 1985, polio paralyzed 1,000+ children every day in 125 polio-endemic countries. Now, thanks to their work and vision for a polio-free world, only two countries remain polio-endemic.

A polio-free world is possible, but we can achieve it only by taking action together. SMME is donating all the funds we receive in October to PolioPlus to continue the work of eradicating polio for good. AND Gates Foundation is matching all donations to End Polio Now 2 to 1.

All of the proceeds from our Bingo in August went to purchasing a water bottle filling station for Valley View Elementary School!!

Valley View was hit by funding cuts and increased students- leading to just one water bottle filling station for all 500 students 😱🤯

Thank you to everyone that came out to support!

🌟 Service Above Self in action! 🌟

Last week, our club came together to pack 100 hygiene kits and about 70 snack kits for OASIS FOR YOUTH, an amazing organization supporting youth experiencing housing instability.

This was extra special to us because we were restocking the mobile outreach van that our club originally sponsored to outfit with a desk, shelves, etc. so that Oasis can deliver resources directly to youth out in the community.

It’s inspiring to see how that first act of service continues to make an impact, and we’re proud to keep supporting their mission today.

Independent Sector, with the Do Good Institute at the University of Maryland, estimates the value of a volunteer hour in Minnesota is currently $36.61.

Putting a dollar value on volunteer hours will never do justice to their true worth, but it is just one way to show the contributions made in our communities.

No matter what kind of volunteer work they do, our members are are contributing in invaluable ways. We hope you'll join us at one of our next service events to give back to our community!
