We love public lands too, especially in the badlands! Thanks Miss North Dakota for highlighting ND public land treasures!

Michael Swartz hits the nail on the head regarding a massive conflict brewing all over the country. It’s a direct collision between quiet, local communities and the staggering infrastructure required to power the digital world.

Let’s be honest: when a "hyperscale" facility rolls into a rural area, it’s not just another harmless warehouse. It fundamentally alters the local landscape, strains infrastructure, and changes the neighborhood forever.

Measure 1 means that politicians get to keep their power, but regular citizens will face more hurdles, more delays, and more government review before voters can ever decide an issue.

Why should a different set of rules apply to the people than to the politicians in Bismarck? Our citizen-led ballot process is designed to give the community a voice when the legislature refuses to act. This measure rigs the rules to tilt the scales in favor of those already closest to government.

Say NO to double standards in our state constitution. Vote NO on Measure 1.

North Dakotans have already seen this play before....and voters already decisively rejected these exact attacks on citizen-led ballot measures back in 2024.

Yet, here we are again. Legislators are bringing a piece of that rejected proposal right back to the ballot as Measure 1, asking voters a second time to limit the people's process.

The initiative process belongs to the people, not politicians. We said no then, and we need to say no now. Don't let them bring back rejected restrictions.

Vote NO on Measure 1. Protect the power of the people!

North Dakotans already agree on this issue: 76% of voters strongly support the citizen initiative process because we believe power must stay with the people, not the politicians.

Ballot measures give North Dakota citizens the freedom to make important decisions that directly affect our lives and communities. Measure 1 actively restricts that freedom by handing government officials more control over what you are allowed to see on your ballot.

Our local economy and community voices thrive when the people have a say. Let’s keep North Dakota free of government gatekeeping.

Hit share to make sure your neighbors see this statistic before the primary election!

Measure 1 creates a dangerous double standard that gives politicians and government officials more control over citizen-led ballot measures.

This isn't just a minor technical change. It gives a single elected official the ultimate gatekeeping power to decide whether a citizen-initiated petition can even start collecting signatures. One politician shouldn't get to act as a filter for what ideas North Dakotans are allowed to consider.

North Dakotans already have the power to vote yes or no on ballot measures at the polls. We don't need a new barrier blocking us before we even get that choice. Protect the initiative process.

Vote NO on Measure 1.

Today, the DRC team joins our community in observing Memorial Day. We pause to honor and remember the brave servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Their courage, dedication, and selflessness are the foundation of the freedoms we cherish today. We also extend our deepest gratitude to the gold star families who carry the weight of that sacrifice every single day.

In observance of the holiday, please note that our physical offices will be closed today, Monday, May 25. We will reopen tomorrow during our normal business hours.

We wish you all a safe, meaningful, and peaceful Memorial Day spent with family and friends.

Ballot measures belong to the people. North Dakota's Constitution explicitly reserves initiative powers for regular citizens so we can bring issues directly to the ballot when the Legislature refuses to act.

Measure 1 is a direct power grab designed to weaken that right. It creates a troubling double standard: politicians get to keep their streamlined process, but citizen-led measures will face aggressive new hurdles and extra government review before voters can ever decide.

Some politicians think they know better than North Dakota citizens, and they are trying to rig the rules to make it harder for regular people to have a voice.

If you believe power should stay with the people, help us spread the word. Drop a comment below if you agree it's time to stop the double standards in Bismarck.

Instead of letting voters decide, Measure 1 invites more legal fights over whether citizens are even allowed to vote on an issue. It’s nonsense, and we need to protect our election process.

Think about it: “Single subject” sounds simple, but it is entirely about control. The real issue is that the rule isn't clearly defined. That means Measure 1 gives politicians, bureaucrats, and courts another tool to delay, block, or tie up citizen-led measures in court before regular people ever get a final say.

Let's keep our elections focused on the voters, not endless courtroom delays.

Vote NO on Measure 1. Protect the power of the people!
