The Leadership Bismarck-Mandan cohort spent Energy Day exploring North Dakota's energy industry.

The day began at the North Dakota Safety Council, where participants learned about pipeline infrastructure, land reclamation, and energy safety, and heard from Justin Kringstad of the North Dakota Pipeline Authority about crude oil and natural gas transportation. The cohort then traveled to Coal Creek Station near Underwood for a tour of the power plant and a firsthand look at electricity generation.

Thank you to our Energy Day co-chairs, Reva Kautz and Retha Mattern, the North Dakota Safety Council, Rainbow Energy Center, and all of the speakers who helped make the day possible. Special thanks to our lunch sponsor, Lignite Energy Council, for their support!

This week, the Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC helped celebrate several exciting milestones across our community!

Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library – Celebrated the completion of the bathroom renovation project.

Jomo House – Celebrated the completion of a new mural on their west wall.

Cottingham Insurance Agency DDC Inc – Celebrated the opening of their new location in Bismarck.

Batteries Plus – Celebrated the grand opening of their new location.

Congratulations to each of these organizations on their accomplishments!

Last night, the Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC hosted a community forum at the Mandan High School Auditorium to learn more about the impact of data centers from a panel discussion moderated by Terry Effertz, Executive Director of TechND.

Panel participants included Seth Andorfer, CEO of DCN, Don Flaherty, Mayor of Ellendale, Jonathan Fortner, President & CEO of Lignite Energy Council, Darcy Neigum, VP of Energy Supply for MDU, and Senator Dale Patten, District 26.
