We’re out and about in the community this week—come see us! We’re grateful to connect with local friends and nonprofits, and be in community outside in the beautiful weather. This Thursday, the ACE team will be downtown doing handprints with Yogi Dada on her mural for Yonder Walls. Then, we’ll back tabling and handing out free candy and fidgets at Girls Rock Fest this Sunday from 1-7pm at Avondale Brewing—come see us!

ACE Alabama remains committed to making sure that our staff and team are educated and up to date on mental health curriculum and safety practices so that we can better serve our youth. On this World Mental Health Day, we are so grateful that we get to work with young people who are committed to increasing awareness of Mental Health and student support services in their schools and communities. They inspire us and we’re so proud of them. And, we’re glad you’re here! **if you need tangible resources regarding mental health services see our reposted post from Mental Health First Aid**

The first P.E.A.C.E. Birmingham meeting of the 2026-2027 year was a success! We’re so excited to welcome so many new students to the program and to get to see our returning students as well! We got to get to know each other better, play some games, learn more about Birmingham Civil Rights history, and set some intentions for this year’s meetings and events! We had a great time training Altamont's Heritage Panel 2026-27 last week! Their student leaders and educators were awesome! They asked great questions, learned more about important issues and each other, and grew their leadership skills. Heritage Panel is one of the many programs ACE Alabama offers to help empower young people to effect positive change in their community. If you're interested in having a Heritage Panel at your middle or school, please reach out to us! *more info and our contact info is on our website* Special thanks to St. Paul UMC for hosting us again! Their historic space is a great backdrop for the work that we do, and the renovations and exhibit are great!
