Because of this community, nearly 20 miles of Ridge Trail opened last year. Because supporters stayed engaged, long-restricted land is expected to open for the public soon. And because people care, the Ridge Trail is closer than ever to national recognition.

Many thanks to National Geographic author Stephanie Pearson for featuring the Ridge Trail in her new book, 100 Hikes of a Lifetime U.S.A. - we hope it inspires people to explore and fall in love with the Ridge Trail like we have.

National Geographic named this unfinished 400-mile Bay Area trail among its '100 Hikes of a Lifetime' — after nearly 40 years of development, it's about 70% complete 🌄

The easy miles are behind us. The remaining gaps in the Ridge Trail are the most complex, and the most important. These “hard miles” take time, expertise, and sustained community support to complete.

Last weekend 350+ hikers, mountain bikers & equestrians hit the trail with us at Ridge to Bridge. Supporting them were over 50 volunteers, making sure everyone had a safe and fun experience.

Major thanks to Bay Area Barns and Trails for supporting our equestrian friends at Ridge to Bridge! We had a huge equestrian turnout this year and we always hear from our hike and bike participants how fun it is to have you at the event too. Big thanks as well to Miwok Equestrian Center, Metropolitan Horsemen's Association, Presidio Riding Club and Los Viajeros Riding Club for your support in making this event a success!
