We are seeking a courageous advocate to represent LGBTQ+ clients who have been persecuted for their sexuality and gender identity and are seeking safety in the United States. Join a small, dedicated team of people who care deeply about this work and about each other.

We’re hiring for two staff attorney roles, one for our Affirmative Immigration Program and one for our Removal Defense Program.

📍Location: Berkeley, CA (hybrid)

⏱️ Schedule: Full-time, exempt (35 hours/week)

💰Salary: Commensurate with years of same-level experience in a similar role, from $80,000 to $108,000.

⚠️ URGENT FOR ASYLUM SEEKERS ⚠️

USCIS is getting ready to collect the affirmative asylum fee.

You may need to take immediate action if:

-You applied for asylum (filed Form I-589) with USCIS (you are not currently in deportation proceedings in Immigration Court)
-Your case is still pending — you have not yet received a decision

Swipe for step-by-step instructions on how to check if your payment is due and how to pay it.

❗If the fee is not paid on time, your asylum case will be automatically rejected and transferred to Immigration Court.
