The program features works by Olli Mustonen, Eugène Ysaÿe, Jean Sibelius, and Arnold Schoenberg, including Schoenberg’s lush and transformative Verklärte Nacht.

This fall, we're thrilled to welcome Marcus Roberts and his acclaimed trio to New Century for GROOVE, our opening program of the 2026/27 season.

Featuring music by Caroline Shaw, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, and Rhiannon Giddens—including Ellington and Gershwin arrangements created for the Marcus Roberts Trio—GROOVE celebrates the vibrant dialogue between jazz and classical music.

Exciting news! Music Director and Concertmaster Daniel Hope will officially continue his tenure of extraordinary artistic leadership until 2030.

“New Century is a chamber orchestra unlike any other—fearless, imaginative, and deeply connected to its community,” says Hope. “It has been a great privilege to serve as Music Director, and I am thrilled to continue this remarkable journey together. I look forward to exploring new repertoire, deepening our connection with audiences, and building on the extraordinary spirit that makes New Century so special.”
